GST & Billing

- Goods and Services Tax — India's unified indirect tax on the supply of goods and services. Registered businesses charge GST on sales, claim credit on purchases, and file periodic returns.

- Harmonized System of Nomenclature code — a standardised number that classifies a product for GST. The correct HSN code sets the GST rate and must appear on a compliant tax invoice.
- CGST & SGSTSee in Capturo Invoice →
- The two halves of GST on an intra-state sale (buyer and seller in the same state): Central GST goes to the centre and State GST to the state, each usually half the total rate.

- Integrated GST — the single GST charged on an inter-state sale (buyer and seller in different states), collected by the centre and later shared with the destination state.
- e-Invoice (IRN)See in Capturo Invoice →
- An electronically authenticated GST invoice. Eligible businesses upload invoice data to the government portal, which returns an Invoice Reference Number (IRN) and a signed QR code that make the invoice valid.

- A digital document required to move goods worth over a threshold value between locations. It records the consignment and transporter details and must accompany the goods in transit.
- GSTR-1 & GSTR-3BSee in Capturo Invoice →
- Two core GST returns: GSTR-1 reports outward sales in detail, while GSTR-3B is a monthly summary return used to declare tax liability and pay it.
- UPI QR
- A scannable code that opens the customer's UPI app with the amount and payee pre-filled. It lets a business collect payment instantly, typically with no payment-gateway fee.
Restaurant

- Kitchen Order Ticket — the instruction sent to the kitchen when a customer orders, listing the items to prepare. Modern POS sends KOTs digitally instead of on paper.

- Kitchen Display System — a screen in the kitchen that shows incoming orders live, replacing printed tickets and helping cooks track and time each dish.

- Cost of Goods Sold — the direct cost of the ingredients or materials in what you sold. For a restaurant it's the recipe cost of dishes served; it's the key input to gross margin.

- Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission — India's national framework for digital health, which standardises how patient records and health IDs are created and shared across compliant systems.

- Ayushman Bharat Health Account — a unique health ID under ABDM that links a patient's records across hospitals and clinics, so their history follows them digitally.

- Electronic Medical Record / Electronic Health Record — the digital chart of a patient's encounters, vitals, prescriptions, lab results and history, replacing paper case sheets.

- Employees' State Insurance — a mandatory contributory scheme providing medical and cash benefits to eligible Indian employees, funded by employer and employee contributions on wages.

- A software design where one application securely serves many separate customers (tenants) from shared infrastructure, keeping each tenant's data fully isolated from the others.
- DPDP
- India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act — the law governing how organisations collect, process and protect individuals' personal data, with obligations around consent and security.
