When you use Capturo, we collect the following information:

  • Account Information: Name, email address, phone number, and password when you create an account.
  • Profile Information: Professional details including bio, skills, location, portfolio images, and pricing that you choose to share publicly.
  • Payment Information: Billing details processed securely through Razorpay. We do not store your card details on our servers.
  • Photos & Media: Images you upload to galleries, portfolios, and projects.
  • Usage Data: How you interact with our platform, pages visited, features used, and device information.
  • Face Recognition Data: When guests use our Smart Gallery face search feature, facial data is processed through AWS Rekognition and is not stored permanently.

2. How We Use Your Information

  • To provide and maintain our photography marketplace platform
  • To display your public profile and portfolio to potential clients
  • To process bookings, invoices, and payments
  • To enable AI features including face recognition in Smart Gallery
  • To send transactional emails (booking confirmations, invoice reminders, password resets)
  • To improve our services and user experience
  • To prevent fraud and ensure platform security

3. Data Storage & Security

Your data is stored on secure servers. Photos and media are stored on Amazon Web Services (AWS) S3 with encryption. We use industry-standard security measures including:

  • SSL/TLS encryption for all data in transit
  • Hashed passwords using bcrypt (we never store plain-text passwords)
  • JWT-based authentication with token expiry
  • Rate limiting to prevent brute-force attacks

4. Face Recognition

Our Smart Gallery uses AWS Rekognition for face matching. Important points:

  • Face data is used solely to match guests with their event photos
  • Selfie images used for scanning are not permanently stored
  • Face collections are tied to specific event galleries and can be deleted by the photographer
  • We do not sell or share face data with third parties

5. Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal information. We share data only with:

  • Service Providers: AWS (storage & AI), Razorpay (payments), Hostinger (email) — only as needed to operate the platform
  • Public Profile: Information you choose to make public (profile, portfolio) is visible to all users
  • Legal Requirements: When required by law or to protect our rights

6. Your Rights

You have the right to:

  • Access, update, or delete your personal information
  • Make your profile private at any time
  • Delete your account and all associated data
  • Request a copy of your data
  • Opt out of marketing communications

7. Cookies

We use essential cookies for authentication (JWT token stored in localStorage). We use Google Analytics for understanding usage patterns. No advertising cookies are used.

8. Children's Privacy

Capturo is not intended for users under 18 years of age. We do not knowingly collect information from minors.
